The Journey 03:15
Last night I fooled around, downtown in dizzy lanes I got a taxi back home and the driver claimed he once had been a rich man, for years in Cape Town but life turned its back on him, and never turned around He rolled in royal places, in luxury hotels in women and cocaine addicted, in habits of his wealth till money flew away with a wasteful wind then Thailand called him for a wife, who knows maybe a kid It was love at first sight, in pleasure's isle he writhed in city's alleys pleased her and she pleased him twice she breathed in him a freedom, a soothing rippled waltz but took away his beauty and left him in a song to dance among red and yellow leaves of fall
2.
Barefoot I walk through cyclones of fire they burn it all down like a great empire I chase my dreams in burning nightmares and when I wake up, those flames are everywhere My body is weak and lava is on my back but I go on cause the fire is in my heart digging for home in a homeless world one day I'll fly though I'm a flightless bird Where's the ocean now to wash my soul somehow where's the tidal wave the everlasting rain to take it all away The mountains cry and volcanos roar spitting their fireballs like dragons making war there's nothing left or nowhere else to go but I go on through fire to the unknown
3.
I know a man who came to be a fading glow in given promises a burning fire inside a tear a caring mother I know a man who came to be a civil war, a boy hiding a beast a cast away in open seas a loving brother of the world I know a man who came to be a wild hungry lion and a prey a freefall in a floating dream a rolling lover I tell you now, he came to be a nation in exile, a rising tide a flowing silence staring at the urban sky and when I think I don’t know him or that he ‘s a thousand miles away, I find him everyday in me as I long for a change
4.
Old Days 04:19
In the fields we strolled with our trousers torn, through the air we heard grandma calling us home Beneath the neighbour's farm we buried our whispering secrets, hunted by wild barking dogs we hid in tree holes Oh how I miss the old days the old days the old days the old days On the olive trees I tasted Mary's lips till a grasshopper rest on her cold white skin Scared to death she spinned she run away from me down and down to the orange painted hills Behind the old lighthouse we took off all our clothes holding your hand we dived in endless blue

Skopelitis 02:15
6.
Hey 03:28
Don't pretend babe, like there's nothing going on I know you want it, I can't go wrong Babe you ‘re rolling down my way Dance for me yeah, show me what you got All I see is you naked in devil's throne Babe you’ re rolling down my way I 've been treated like a fool before Now I want you, tomorrow I don't know Babe you’ re rolling down my way
7.
Come On 03:50
come on sail with me in a colourful world like penguins and seals, we 'll dive everywhere in the thundering rain, in the silence of fields come on fly with me, in the bluest of blue over the mountain tops, on the horizon's edge where the sun goes down and it rises again, come out of the winds and the storm deep in your soul, babe our home is the dawn come on run with me, through the concrete forests hear the echoing sounds of creatures and birds go leave all your nightmares under your bed come on find with me your compass, your pillow there are no borderlines no country for us just dream for a while and forget the past come out of the winds and the storm deep in your soul, babe our home is the dawn
8.
And the sea will be in its wildest like a furious beast untamed, swallowing all your traces taking you away And the skies will cry an ocean And the winds will blow the day This very moment of goodbye still so hard for me to say it And the storm will be so violent Outside but more in me I ‘ll be homeless, I ‘ll feel broken I know how ‘s gonna be look at me now, how I'm hangin from a memory remained how I tickle all those feelings how I 'm dragged out in the rain And the spring will come in green dress, light will roll by the trees bringing life back in the forest leaving you in yesterday
9.
Wake Up 03:32
Wake up Blow up my mind Like balloons we ‘re divin in the sky what is known soon will be forgotten are we still an unknown God not rotten Who will be hidden from his fate Caught in sneaky webs Of right time or late All we need is a change All the shades of past Soon will be dust we ‘ll find new troubles on our way but we own ourselves from today you gotta be me I gotta be you To break the cage

about

It's been quite some time since the debut album of Moa Bones. His long-awaited second album is titled "Spun" and was definitely worth the wait.

"Spun" was recorded in his room, during fall 2014. Moa Bones has produced the whole album, the sound of which returns again to the familiar paths of homemade and lo-fi aesthetics, like his early demos. "Spun" is an experiential album influenced from country music, the blues and American singing-songwriting of the 60s. Travelling, new experiences and unexpected meetings in recent years have taken the form of vortex and adventure for the artist. He lives and rotates within this, exploring the way to the light. All these experiences were the inspiration for the songs of the album that at times are self-psychoanalytic and sometimes express passions, desires and wishful thinking, as extracts of a five-year mini autobiography.

“Spun” is out on cd and digital album on May 25th and on vinyl (incl.bonus cd) in June via Inner Ear.
